Delicious healthy chocolate brownies
At Bodhifit we are very much about the grain-free and sugar free life. There’s a lot entailed when you get down to the nitty gritty of diet and lifestyle, and how it reflects your body and overall health.
Over the next few months we will explore the different ways that you can approach finding what diet and lifestyle works best for you and why certain foods effect you the way they do.
In the meantime, here is a simple and yummy healthy brownie recipe! Don’t judge it until you try it, because we’re sure you’re going to love it :D
Grain-Free Chocolate Brownies
Ingredients:
2 medium sweet potatoes (peeled & steamed)
2 tbsp of butter or coconut oil
6 squares of 90% dark chocolate (melted)
¼ cup cacao powder
¼ cup nativa (or sweetener of preference)
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
½ sea salt
Method:
Preheat oven to 200 degrees C.
Line baking tray with baking paper.
Place your steamed sweet potato in a food processor and blend until smooth and pureed.
Place butter, dark chocolate, cacao powder, nativa, eggs, vanilla extract, baking soda and sea salt into sweet potato mix and blend until well combined.
Pour mixture into baking tray and bake for 40 minutes or until cooked.
Let cool and place in fridge overnight (they taste amazing when they are really cold)
Chocolate Icing
Ingredients:
2 very ripe avocados
¼ cup cacao powder
3 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
Method:
Blend all ingredients together and spread over brownies.
Let it set in fridge for 1 -2 hours.
